So it's a little hard to read in this picture, but this is my finished project after participating in the Glass Etching Saturday Short at the MCA a few weekends ago. The image is this die-cut yak shape (that I first got when I worked at a media center a long time ago) that I named Chitty Chitty Shackleton the Wonder Yak. He is a wonder and so I decided that he would be the perfect subject for a glass etching experiment- which I think turned out really well. We etched the glass from one of those clip frame kits you get at Ikea. And then we cut paper to go behind the glass. I think this has real potential for some of my other map like drawings and I can't wait to play with this idea some more.
